Every walk in the conservation area goes out with a ranger or guide — which is exactly how you find things. Trails lead to Fairy Falls, Serpent Falls, the Tembaling cascade, the Coffin Cliff burial site and a natural jacuzzi pool that earns its name.

What you'll see

Primates overhead, hornbills passing, pig-tailed macaque troops, pitta calls from the litter — and the forest itself: buttress roots, strangler figs and 200 plant species in a single hectare.

Best time & conditions

Mornings for wildlife, midday for waterfalls (the swim is the reward), and the drier months for the longer ridge routes. Leech socks are a badge of honour.
