Night safari
When the light goes, the forest changes cast.
What it is
Night safari, properly done
When the light goes, the forest changes cast. Open-top night drives and guided night walks reveal the second shift: civets, flying squirrels launching between trunks, slow loris, sleeping birds, and frogs performing along every stream.
What you'll see
Eyeshine is the game — sambar deer, palm civets, colugos, owls, and for the truly fortunate, the marbled cat or a Sunda clouded leopard crossing the road.
Best time & conditions
Drives run after dinner year-round; walks are best on still, damp nights when the frogs and invertebrates are loudest. Red-filtered torches protect night vision — your guide sets the etiquette.
