Day by day
A flexible template
Timings flex with weather, river levels and what the forest is doing — your guide reads the day.
Arrival & first night drive
Meet your guide at Lahad Datu airport for the 2–2.5-hour transfer — sealed road, then 82 km of gravel as the forest closes in. Settle into your chalet, dinner beside the river, then an open-top night drive: civets, flying squirrels and, if the forest is generous, larger eyes in the dark.
Canopy walkway & waterfall trek
On the walkway before the heat — 26 metres up as the mist burns off and hornbills commute overhead. After breakfast, a guided trek to Fairy Falls and the natural jacuzzi pool. The afternoon is the river's; the evening is a guided night walk for frogs and other small wonders.
Dawn birding & departure
A final dawn session — the walkway or the riverside trail, your choice — then breakfast, and the transfer back to Lahad Datu for onward flights. Most guests book the next trip on the drive out.
