Getting there
Two hops and a gravel road
Fly Kota Kinabalu (BKI) → Lahad Datu (LDU) in about 55 minutes, then a 2–2.5-hour road transfer — sealed at first, then roughly 82 km of gravel through the forest. Buses also reach Lahad Datu from Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau and Semporna. The reserve requires ranger-accompanied entry and insurance including emergency helicopter evacuation.
