INFAPRO began in July 1992 as a partnership between Innoprise Corporation and the Netherlands' FACE Foundation, with one job: put the rainforest back. Three decades on, nearly 12,000 hectares of once-logged forest in the Ulu Segama reserve carry young dipterocarps and wild-fruit trees — and the wildlife is returning with them.
Guests stay simply at the INFAPRO base, plant trees that carry their name on a signboard (tended for five years), walk the regenerating forest with the people who replanted it, and leave having done something rather than just seen something.
