Step by step
The route, honestly described
1. Finish diving. Your last Sipadan or Mabul day, then back to Semporna town — remember dive-to-fly surface intervals before any onward flight.
2. Road to Tawau. About an hour from Semporna to Tawau, for either an onward flight or the overland route north.
3. On to Danum. Fly Tawau → Kota Kinabalu → Lahad Datu, or travel overland via Lahad Datu; then transfer into the forest. See the Lahad Datu route page.
Remember the conservation area's entry conditions — travel insurance including emergency evacuation is required, and forest walks are guide-accompanied.
